Dube Cargo Terminal is a state-of-the-art cargo operation, and the most secure cargo terminal in Southern Africa.
It is directly linked to both the airside and the TradeZone. It is managed by a single handler, and has freight forwarders and shippers only 200 metres away. The Cargo Terminal is SARS and CAA approved and is a Part 108 compliant facility. It consists of 13 000 m² of warehouse floor space and 2 000 m² of office space and currently has an annual capacity of 100 000 tonnes, with an expected capacity of 2 000 000 tonnes by 2060.
Technologically advanced, it uses ETV (elevated transfer vehicle) by ICM and has a fully mechanised and digitised inventory control system. It also utilises a variety of other systems to ensure the best and most secure service available - Mechanical Express Freight System, Cargo Spot Cargo Management System, 100% Inbound X-Ray, Racking System with Barcode Shipment Tracking, Bio-metric Access Control System, Caller Driver Biometric System, and Truck Call Scan Identity System.
The Cargo Terminal has the advantage of having comprehensive regulatory services such as SARS, the Departments of Health and Agriculture, and the border police in house which contributes significantly towards the speed, efficiency and security of importing and exporting.
