INTERNSHIP AND IN-SERVICE TRAINING OPPORTUNIES
Dube TradePort Corporation is intent on generating effective and professional learning and skills development opportunities.
The organisation recognises that thousands of learners graduate from institutions of higher learning on an annual basis, with many whom are unable to gain employment because of a lack of work experience. There clearly exists a gap between theoretical knowledge gained via tertiary education studies and the requirements of the real world of work; a gap, which must be bridged if career opportunities are to become a widespread reality.
In view of this, Dube TradePort Corporation has pledged to play a meaningful and proactive role in contributing towards the bridging of this gap, by assisting in preparing young graduates for the workplace through a range of learning and skills development opportunities. In this regard, the organisation has developed and implemented three skills development programmes, being:
- An Internship Programme for unemployed graduates;
- An In-Service Training Programme in different functional areas; and
- A Financial Assistance, or Bursary Scheme for engineering and related qualifications.
